“Each moment is a chance for us to make peace with the world, to make peace possible for the world, to make happiness possible for the world.” —Thich Nhat Hanh
“You may feel like there is not much you can do to help with what is going on in the world right now,” remarked Chloe Liu recently. A registered yoga teacher and leader of wellness hikes and nature walks, she continued, “Please know that peace starts within us. By being peaceful, calm, and kind, we are sharing this energy with the people around us.”
To help promote peacefulness and inspired by the teachings of her guruji Ma Mokshapria Shakti, Ph.D., Chloe created the hashtag #20min4humanity.
Mokshapriya said, “Because we are safe at home where we are blessed with peace, we have the responsibility to pray with our hearts involved to send peace to and feel peace for the world.”
#20min4humanity is a gentle reminder that we are all peace ambassadors. In meditation, we have the power to create peace in our thoughts, hearts, and lives. When we create calm in our own minds, we multiply calm in the world. And once we hold peace in our hearts, it flows out from us, as naturally as our breath.
“Meditate for 20 minutes every day, and you raise the peaceful vibration!” Chloe encourages. “Remember, we may be just droplets in this ocean, but even a small droplet has an effect. Imagine, with groups of yogis and communities of spiritual people, the wave of peace these droplets will become!”
When we find peace within, we promote peace everywhere. You can choose to share peace at any moment.
Know that as you make time and room for peace in your heart and mind, you create it for the world. Take 20 minutes for humanity.
